Trading the Euro

If you are new to currency trading, the Euro is a good place to get your feet wet. The Euro is traded in the major currency pair called EUR/USD, which is to say that when you buy the pair, you are buying Euros and selling US Dollars.

Remember, the first currency in the pair is the Base Currency and is set to 1.0000. That is the currency you are buying. The second currency in the pair, in this case the USD, is called the Counter Currency.

Today, the EUR/USD has had a range of about 0.0131, or 131 pips.
